“I called at two in the morning from the jail parking lot. Dariela picked up, told me what the bond hearing would look like, and stayed on the phone until I stopped shaking.”

Criminal defense · Kissimmee and by video
Arrested? Breathe. Then call Dariela.
I’m Dariela Ybarra. I defend people charged with DUI, drug and theft offenses, and I help clear old records. You get one flat fee, in writing, before we start, and you can meet me at my office or by video from anywhere in the state.

The questions that keep you up
So what happens to my…
Everyone who calls asks one of these first. Here are the honest short answers; the long ones depend on your case, and we go through them on the first call.
…driver’s license?
After a DUI arrest the suspension clock starts right away, and the window to challenge it is short. Call before it closes.
DUI defense…job?
Most cases never need your boss to know. We schedule meetings around your shifts and appear for you where the court allows it.
How video meetings work…immigration status?
Some pleas can follow you to an immigration interview. We check that before you sign anything, and bring in an immigration lawyer when you need one.
Questions about status…kids?
A pending charge can come up in a custody case. We tell you what to say, and what not to, while both are open.
Talk it through…record?
An arrest stays on your record even when the case is dropped. Many old cases can be sealed or expunged.
Record sealing…savings?
You see one flat fee before we start, and it doesn’t grow with every hearing. Payment plans are available.

Defense by video
Meet your lawyer from your kitchen table
Half our clients live an hour or more from Kissimmee. They never had to drive in.
We meet on a video call from your phone or laptop, with a family member on the line if you want one. You sign the agreement online, send papers by photo, and get a text before every court date. When the judge wants you there in person, one of us stands beside you.

What we defend
Four kinds of cases, each with its own flat fee
The fee covers your lawyer’s work through the case as written in the agreement. Court costs, fines and expert fees are separate, and we tell you about them up front.
DUI
First and second offenses, refusals, and the license hearing that comes before the criminal case.
DUI defenseDrug charges
Possession, paraphernalia and prescription cases, and whether the search that found them was legal.
Drug charge defenseTheft
Shoplifting, petit theft and theft from an employer, where keeping a first charge off a record matters most.
Theft defenseRecord sealing
Sealing or expunging an old arrest or a case that ended well, so it stops showing up on background checks.

From clients
What the night after looked like
“I work nights at a warehouse and couldn’t take days off. Every meeting was on my phone during my break, and the price I saw the first day is the price I paid.”
“Amadeo went through the offer with my mother in Spanish, line by line, before I signed anything. She finally understood what I was agreeing to.”
Sample words from clients. Every case is different, and what happened in theirs doesn’t predict what will happen in yours.
Before you call
Straight answers, first
Should I talk to the police about what happened?
Be polite, give your name, and say you want a lawyer before answering questions. Then call us. Nothing you say to an officer can be taken back.
What does the flat fee cover?
Your lawyer’s work from the first meeting through the plea, dismissal or diversion, as the agreement lists it. A trial is a second flat fee, quoted before you decide. Court costs and fines are separate.
Can the whole case really happen by video?
Our meetings can. Many hearings can too, when the judge allows it. When you must be in the courtroom, we tell you well ahead and meet you there.
Can my family call for me?
Yes. A parent, partner or friend can call while you are in custody, and we can start on the bond hearing. Once you are out, we talk with you directly.
Do I have to pay it all at once?
No. Most clients split the fee into monthly payments. The total stays the same, and it is written in the agreement.
Day or night
Call now. We pick up.
Tell us what happened and where. We’ll tell you what comes next and what it costs, before you decide anything.
What you tell us on the call stays between us.
