Record sealing

An old case shouldn’t keep costing you

A dropped charge or an arrest from years ago can still show up when you apply for a job or an apartment. Many can be sealed or expunged.

We start by pulling your full record, because people often have more on it, or less, than they think. Then we tell you plainly whether you qualify, which option fits, and how long it takes. If you don’t qualify, you pay only for the review.

What sealing can help with

  • Job and apartment background checks

  • Professional license applications

  • School and volunteer applications

  • Peace of mind, at last

  1. 01

    Step 1: The record check

We pull your full criminal history and confirm what is on it.

We tell you whether you qualify and which option fits your case.

  3. 03

    Step 3: The application

We prepare the forms, get the court-stamped copies and file the petition.

  4. 04

    Step 4: The order

Questions

What clients ask about sealing

What is the difference between sealing and expunging?

A sealed record is hidden from most people but kept on file. An expunged record is destroyed or removed. Which one you can ask for depends on how the case ended.

Can I seal more than one case?

Usually only one, and the rules are strict. We check your whole record first so you use that chance on the case that matters most.

How long does it take?

Several months from start to finish, most of it waiting on state agencies. We send you an update at every step.

Sealing one case, for one flat fee

The fee covers the review, the petition and the order. State application fees and court copies are separate, about $100 to $200.
