Drug charge defense
Most drug cases turn on the search
Before we talk about what was found, we ask how it was found. An illegal search can end a case.
We read every page of the reports and the lab results, and watch every minute of video. For a first charge, a diversion program can mean the case is dropped once you finish it. For a prescription you were allowed to have, the right paperwork can settle it.
What we check
Whether the stop and the search were legal
Who the drugs actually belonged to

Diversion and treatment programs

Step by step
How a drug case moves
- 01
Step 1: The first appearance
We handle bond and the conditions of release, such as testing or travel limits.
- 02
Step 2: Discovery
We ask for the reports, the video, the lab file and the officers’ notes.
- 03
Step 3: Motions
If the search broke the rules, we ask the judge to throw out what it found.
- 04
Step 4: Resolution
A dismissal, diversion, a reduced charge, or a trial, decided with you.
Questions
What clients ask about drug cases
The drugs were in the car, but they weren’t mine. Does that matter?
Yes. Being near something isn’t the same as possessing it. The state has to show you knew it was there and could control it.
What is a diversion program?
A set of classes, tests or treatment that, once finished, ends with the charge dropped. Not everyone qualifies, and we tell you honestly if you do.
Will a drug charge affect my immigration case?
It can, even for small amounts. We look at that before any plea and work with an immigration lawyer when the answer matters.
A possession case, for one flat fee
The fee covers motions and hearings through a plea, diversion or dismissal. Lab experts, court costs and program fees are separate.
